Their family have visited the cottage every year for a while now, with the lovely dog and enjoy seeing familiar sights as well as finding out about new places – they are never bored as there is always something different to do in Deal – new shops opening up or a different restaurant to visit – or the new Museum of the Moving Image in Stanhope Road or another art exhibition at the Linden Gallery…..
but not as much as we do.’… said a returning guest.
We love Deal with the variety of local shops and pubs and places to eat. Every taste is catered for within very easy walking distance. We can grab a quick coffee or linger over some fine dining, with no hassle of having to drive or get a cab to and fro.
The local shops are a delight, with the mix of High Street staples and the convenience of known brands and wide ranges alongside some fabulously quirky ‘one off’ enterprises.
We adore the summer evening suppers in the garden and always find plenty to do..!
It was unseasonally cold when we visited, so we used the open fire to great effect. The Saturday Market was very close by and lots of warm and friendly locals.
The Kings Head did good food and allow dogs in the bar area – worth booking first.
We love staying at Dragon Cottage and it was very sad to leave it. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay extremely comfortable, including making the sun shine! Parking at the Beach Front was no problem at all and we were easily able to unload and reload at the front of the cottage. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and got to some lovely walks directly from the cottage. Joining English Heritage is a must before you go to Deal, Walmer and 20 minutes down the road, Dover Castles are all part of the group. Plenty of shops, restaurants and two big supermarkets in a very short distance from the cottage oh, and a chip shop very nearby. A big thank you to the owners for sharing their cottage.
